Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I am just starting into making birthday cards, but in the process came across a card I made for Christmas last year before I had a blog, and I really thought these were fun to make. I used silver embossing powder and Brocade Blue, Bording Blue and Ballet blue. This would be fun to "remake" with stickles, and brads next year, using layers...possibilities are endless.

Holy Triptych

Yahoo! I love Christmas. I am baking cookies as I am posting. Does it get any better than this? I used Handsome Hunter, Verry Vanilla, gold paper and gold embossing powder for this card. I used three stamp sets, Holy Triptych, Baroque Motifs for the background, and Star-Studded Season for the sentiment. This one smudged a bit, so it's mine to keep. The others turned out great! I hope everyone likes them this year!

This is another card using the Holy Triptych set. I couldn't leave out a gold embossed one! What would Christmas be like without gold, and reds, and greens?! (Awful probably!)

I made it similar to the next one, just used purely pomegranite, gold, and very vanilla SU card stock.

So, on Monday morning while I was getting a package ready to send for Christmas, I started counting my Christmas cards I had ready to send. I was surprised to see that I had 36 more to make! This stamp set has grown on me, over the last month and so here is my first attempt at making an actual card with it. I also used Baroque Motifs, and Star-Studded Season for the sentiment. I embossed in silver, and used the Blue Bayou, and silver SU paper.

Making cards while listening to Christmas music can be so nice!

Altered scalop punch ornament

I saw a version of this on split coast, and I couldn't wait to try one for my tree! I got the beads from our local Fur Shop here in Barrow. I love sparkly things on my tree!

Teacher present

This is a picture of my daughter's teacher's Christmas gift. I made this gift box using SU soft sky paper with craft white boldsnowflakes, then attached an ornament made from the kit in the winter mini. I used a jumbo eylet and a soft blue brad in the middle. I painted the top snowflake with acrylic paint, then after it dried, painted on crystal effects and dusted it with dazzling diamonds. Inside the box was tissue paper with a card from my daughter, and a set of new earrings I made for her teacher to wear, and Christmas chocolates, holiday minis, kisses, and butterfinger bells.

For my son's teacher, we bought a large bowl, and filled it with some assorted candy, an apple, orange, and six packages of buttered popcorn. I wish I had taken pictures of both packages finished, but...their teachers will enjoy them anyhow. I am trying to finish up for Christmas, and get ready for my daughter's birthday before Christmas too. I got packages mailed off today-headed for Montana.

Birthday card

I kept playing with ideas with Time Well Spent, but couldn't stick anything down, until we had a good friend's birthday to go to, she was turning 8 years old. This is what my daughter and I came up with. I think it turned out nice. I used Pink Passion and Purely Pomegranite paper, and Pixie pink, Purely Pomegranite, and Bashful blue to watercolor the flowers, and wild wasabi for the leaves.

I had fun making these after Thanksgiving. I used the Dashing paper pack and the Wintergreen pack to cover the chipboard ornaments from SU. I am still working on some of the smaller ones, they are turning out to be more intricate! I am glad I kept one for patterns. I can see enjoying these for years to come.
