My wonderful daughter!

My wonderful daughter who's seven, made me a chocolate cake for my birthday...with chocolate frosting, and then a whole bag of m&m's... what a sweet heart!

Penguin Birthday

My little Nephew turns two soon, and I wanted to do a fun card for him. My DH found this for me for Christmas this year, and this was my first time playing with Polar Pals! I am really going to like this one! I used torn paper for the "ice" and sponged it to shade the colors. There are also snowflakes embossed with hologram highlights ep that are hard to see! I was bummed that Christmas was over, but I am finding my mojo in other areas again. Christmas is my favorite though!

Valentines Treat Bag

This is a treat bag made from an envelope! I used the Love Matters set in last year's mini, Simply Said, and Everyday Flexible Phrases. It is about the size of a package of hot chocolate. These are really easy to make, just seal the envelope shut, then score 1/4 inch twice on both sides and the bottom. Cut the top off using the cutter, decorative sissors, or punch to create scallops and then fold in, gluing the tabs on the bottoms to create a "bag" or pouch. I used red stickles of course to dot the flowers : )

Art of Life

This was a hostess set in 2005! It's called Art of Life and I forgot I had it. Isn't that bad? So, I got it out, and this is what I came up with the first time around. I will deffinately be using this more in the future! I used Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy, and Choc. Chip ribbon. Circle punches were used with the SU set Circle of Friendship for the sentiment. I enjoyed creating with this simple set.

Hoppy Birthday

I love Unfrogettable! I am making a birthday card for my five-year-old nephew, so I think this might be fun for him. I may make it a shaker card afterall. The circle is covered from the back with acetate, so it looks like a window. I used the tab punch to make a 2" circle, just turn it and punch again! I used my cuttlebug embossing folders again, with Wild Wasabi, then Choc. chip, and Summer Sun for brightening it up! Then I used the large oval punch, to layer on top of the designer punch with brads for the sentiment. Since I had the tab punch out, I couldn't resist using it, and that promped me to use the spiral punch also.

Snappy Birthday

This is a card made with SU Crab and Co. I am so happy to see this back in the catalog! I cased this card from Cambria Turnbow, I thought this was a fun birthday card to make for my Nephew. I changed one of the colors slightly, and simplified the embellishments, instead of using Real Red, I used Purely Pomegranite, and Tempting Turquoise. I used my cuttlebug embossing folder to texture the turquoise paper, but then used the party hat and versamark to create the background pattern on the pomegranite side.

Oh, So Lovely

This is a birthday card I made...but I am not sure I want to part with it. I used the Oh, So Lovely Hostess stamp set, and corner punches, designer punch, and circle punches...the piercing tool to make faux stitching. I also sponged the sky with Soft Sky, and So Saffron after I watercolored the flowers.

In the spotlight birthday

I used the SU set, In the Spotlight, and Basic Backgrounds, and an older Happy Birthday sentiment from Hero Arts (actually my favorite happy birthday stamp) for my brother in law's birthday card. Colors used were Brocade Blue, and Vintage Violet, and of course Whisper White. I used the two-step stamp technique with the Vintage Violet for the two shapes on the side to get a lighter image. I hope he likes it. I have to get better at "male cards"!

Fabulous Flowers

Purely Pomegranite, and River Rock were used on this card. This is the first time I have played with this set. I also used stickles to highlight the layers, and dimensionals to raise the layers.
