Thank you

One of my co-workers gave me a thoughtful Easter gift, so I had to make her a Thank You card to go with it! We were at an Angel Company Fun Shop, and this is the card we made. We used a teal pallet ink, and embossed using the versa mark and a sparkly embossing powder, and silver stickles. Hope you like it!

Easter Shadow Box

I made this for my dear friend Stacy last Easter. I used a retired set Miracle of Spring, and Tags and More to make this shadow box. Since then I've made a few more shadow boxes they're fun once you get the dimensions down! I used stickles to add some shimmer to the flowers. Hope you had a Happy Easter.

Ahoy

I really like this set, Ahoy! for a more boyish theme. I used Rose Red and the Jumbo wheel with the SU colored pencils and blender pens to make the map background. My DS seems to be growing up overnight, and this reminds me of all the fun we used to have watching him "be a pirate", we couldn't wait to ride Pirates of the Carribbean at Disneyland, we were sure some of them were really real. Now he likes to play Pirate Life and watch the movies...but I miss that little boy who would play pirates, with the eye patch and the sword. Thank goodness for pictures! What would we do without them and that power to capture time?

directions anyone?

This is one of our landmarks here in Barrow, Alaska. It was taken during a sunrise, which is not something taken for granted, since there is a period of time the sun doesn't rise here everyday like in other places. It's one of the many things that make Barrow a unique place to live. Travel is not taken for granted here either. This will be one of those pictures I scrap someday in my Barrow album that I need to start soon, now that I have enough pictures to start.

Easter Egg Carton

I saw this very cute Easter box on Q Bee's site, and then Cambria's so this is a combo case. I just had to try it! I love this set more and more! I made this for my DD's teacher for Easter. I hope she likes it! I used SU set A Good Egg, and the scallop punch along with the Three for You punch and the word window punch, and carefully razor cut the window and used acetate to make the "window". It was actually very easy. It just looks complicated! Her site is http://www.brendaquintana.com/ she has all three of the templates you can download. : ) Happy Easter Everyone!

Basics Outline and Bud Basics

Okay, I know two posts in one day! That's because the house is sooo quiet, and I really needed to make another birthday card, and thought, "Why not ink up one I haven't used much?" Really it was just an excuse to play with this set a bit more tonight. I used Rose Red, Regal Rose, and Certianly Celery, Ballet Blue, and of course this time I tried my Stickles for the middle, and Stampin' Dimentionals to raise up the two flowers on the left. Hope you like it, Happy Stampin' until next time!

Bud Basics

I was experimenting with this SU set Bud Basics, it's such a nice set, there's a lot that could be done with it. This is the first time I've inked it up. I used Summer Sun, Appricot Appeal, and Groovy Guava inks, and mounted it on So Saffron paper. I used Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds to make it sparkle. Looks softer and yet more sparkly IRL. I'd love to hear what color combo you'd do this in!

Celebrate you!

One of my dear friends just had a birthday, so I had to make her something nice, and decided to try a little bling! Her fav colors right now are the Soft Sky, and Blue Bayou, so I mixed a few stamp sets, and used some of the Pretties kit to make this! I used the Stampin Up Celebrate set for the sentiment, the butterfly from the Kind Thoughts set, and embossed the with the background stamp Pretty Petals. Hope you like it!
My DD was sick all last week, and this week it's my DS. It has really wiped them out! You know when it rains... we are also getting ready for conferences, and I had three pallets of Girl Scout cookies dropped to sort! Life is never dull even way out here in the Arctic! Never! I guess it keeps us young : )

Issues with my blog

Good morning. I have had some strange activity on my blog, so have added an moderation feature when someone makes comments. I enjoy blogging, and hopefully this will discourage comments not related to me or stamping.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Cris Cross Box

I cased this idea for the color combo and design from AndreaWalford's blog (see the link on the right hand side). Her blog is a must see! The pattern and instructions for the box itself, I found at Papertrey. I used the Good Egg set, getting ready for Easter. I also used the print pattern hostess set for the light blue patterned paper, and So Saffron stamped with the flower pattern that comes in the Good Egg set. I used the scallop punch and the corner rounder to make more scallops across the Choc. Chip paper. I used my SU markers to color the chick. The white dots were made with SU white gel pen.

Birthday for a friend

One of our friends had a birthday last week, and we wanted something soft and pretty. She's real "girly" so we thought she'd like this. It's using a retired set that I haven't played with near enough, and the sentiments from the Birthday Whimsy sale-a-bration set! Hope you like this.

More Kind Thoughts

I really like this set! I couldn't resist trying a different color combo. If I did this again, I think I'd add a pearl from the Pretties kit right in the middle. I used Verry Vanilla, Choc. Chip, and Purely Pomegranite card stock, with Choc. Chip and Purely Pomegranite ink. The main images were water colored using the water color wonder crayons in Regal Rose. The Butterflies are raised using Stampin' Dimensionals. I left the sentiment off until I see an opportunity to send it out. My DD is sick today-we are headed to the Dr. I am hoping later tonight to get back to post a really cute project I'm working on. Until then stay tuned-and if you have suggestions or like what you see please leave comments. I feel lonely in the blogging world these days!

Kind Thoughts

I was so excited to get this set in the mail! This is another one of the cards we made Saturday using the Kind Thoughts set. We used Real Vanilla and Soft sky paper, and Choc. Chip ink. The design is slightly watercolored using the soft sky and a aqua painter. I really like how the scallop punch cuts out the flower image perfectly, and makes it easy to layer. We used Choc. Chip satin ribbon available in the Theater ribbon collection if you didn't get in on the great deal at Christmastime. We attached the butterfly with stampin' dimensionals to pop it up. This set is now one of my favorites, and has sooo many possibilities.

Easter box

This is one of the projects my ladies got to make Saturday at a workshop. We made milk cartons using Lovely Lilac and white embossing powder using the Jumbo wheel It's Beautiful. To me that is so springy! We used the three for you punch for the little flower and the large oval punch for the Happy Easter sentiment. Of course we used the "Good Egg" SU set. This would be an awesome Easter gift for someone filled with milk duds or jelly beans...

Morning Glory

It is good to be creating again! I get busy with work and my kids, and this week Brownies too, This week I was just exhausted every evening. I couldn't wait for the kids to go to bed-so I could too!

I did however, get this set in the mail, and had to watercolor some images. I think I have made one in almost every color! Michelle Force was my inspiration for this one. I really love visiting her blog. Check it out! http://micheleforce.blogspot.com/

This card uses the set Morning Soft from the new SU catalog, and was watercolored using the watercolor crayons. Happy Stampin'!
